Frequently asked questions

Why are you calling it "channel loot box“?

a loot box is a consumable virtual item which can be redeemed to receive a randomised selection of further virtual items, or loot, ranging from simple customization options for a viewers“s.

so, twitch channel + loot box = channel loot box.

Why is there an unlimited empty item in my box?

The box system has transparency in the way it behaves, of course we cannot share the logic of the complete main algorithm, but the item named Empty Loot (64.28 %) represents an empty drop, after all, the box delivers at least 1 common category item per redemption.

Why is the drop rate range limit between 0.01% and 90.00%?

The lowest possible droprate value is 0.01, the droprate should not be lower than this because it would be fraud and false advertising,it is not the experience we would like to offer, although it is possible to use this low value (0.01), consider using a higher value to offer positives experiences to the viewers.

The 90% limit represents a very high chance, we understand that this limit still provides a positive experience for the spectator, values above 90% or close to 100% do not match the purpose of the channel“s loot box and it might be more effective to deliver the item directly to the spectator instead of using our system.

Why is the inventory and item limit so small?

The channel loot box has the possibility to trigger millions of redemptions from several channels at the same time, our infrastructure is prepared to support the millions of redemptions, however, this generates a cost proportional to the number of uses, so to offer a level of free use this limit of inventory seems to be ideal, maybe we will think about paid versions with more slots to cover additional costs in the box inventory.

Why can“t a viewer own an item more than once?

The droprate algorithm has a dynamic logic that removes repeated items that the viewer already owns and creates an equivalence to replace the repeated item, this creates a fair mechanism for all viewers.
